- Well, I don't know if it's bad altogether, but my experience with the combination
- A3000 Desktop + 3060 is very bad. I ordered my 3060 before Xmas, got it within
- 10 days, sent it back 2 times because it didn't work. Now Easter is over
- and I'm still waiting for a running A3000+3060. I suspect that it's a
- kludge design that isn't thoroughly tested, especially with the above combination
- running some popular software (that's my current problem, everything non-trivial
- except the workbench crashes sooner or later). You find this kind of "banana"
- products all over the computer market. Well, maybe I'm a little bit upset
- and thus unfair, I simply should wait for the "final" repair, but for such
- a high price I paid I can expect a product that works out-of-the-box. Period.
- Even more so after my first attempt to get it fixed they should have made
- a full HW+SW Installation+TEST (which they offer).
-
- My advice is to wait until the dust has settled on this issue.
-
- Moreover,
- this whole thing makes me somewhat pessimistic about PPC board upgrades of
- existing Amigas. Hell, if people can't produce proper upgrades using processors
- of the same line, how can anybody promise (100% working !) PPC boards
- for summer '96 ?
